Tamboerskloof Syrah 2010

Ruby in colour, this wine has a complex nose with inviting black currant pastille fruit and supportive white pepper, garrigue (fynbos) and spicy flavours. A well-balanced palate confirms the nose with firm tannin and a lingering peppery aftertaste. Decant 30 minutes prior to serving.

Recommended food pairing

Asian dishes with plum sauces or dishes with cranberries or berries make a great companion to the spice on this wine. Enjoy with any sort of red meats, especially ostrich fillet and venison are a great match.

Tamboerskloof John Spicer Syrah 2009

The Tamboerskloof John Spicer Syrah 2010 is a well structured and balanced, opaque, purple-black coloured Syrah with a magenta rim and deep intensity. The nose develops with medium, but pronounced intensity showing pure, red and black berry fruit, rose hip as well as savoury, meaty notes, followed by berry-pastille fruit and complex spices on the palate. The wine finishes dry with great depth of flavour, elegant structure, firm tannins and a medium plus body.

Recommended food pairing

The wine pairs well with red meat and game flavoured with herbs, berry coulis or smoky spices as well as sweeter dishes of pork, duck or spiced Asian styled dishes accompanied by plum sauces.
